Circling Reverie

Sound Installation, Soundscape + Musical Composition, Interactive Workshop
Circling Reverie is a daydream station that invites imagination through listening experiences. This listening piece is what I call a “daydreamscape” - a daydream soundscape. Composed of rich tones, gentle circles, and audio collages, this soundscape draws parallels to musique concrête. To focus on sound, this work uses media-specific listening devices, with the track transferred to CDs and cassette tapes.
Participants were asked to record their experience during or after their seven-minute listening session. These sketches and musings live as a soft archive of the event's daydreams.
Hosting this experimental research art project at MIT’s Reality Hack 2026 was an insightful opportunity to understand how this piece exists in varying contexts. I saw the impact of creating an intentional space to pause, wander, tune out, or tune in during an intense weekend of innovation.
